Case studies — Selected work

Four case studies.

Each one was a moment where the wrong call would have cost the founder real money. Here's what we did instead. Names anonymized, numbers real.

Multi-clinic ABA practice

0 → 9 clinics, three states

Situation

ABA owner wanted to grow from zero to a multi-state footprint — but didn't have the financial discipline in place to measure each clinic's contribution as the company expanded.

Action taken

Strategic planning, multi-state budgeting, and site-level financial discipline so each clinic's profitability is measurable in its own right — not buried in a single aggregate P&L.

Outcome

9 clinics across three states. Each operating with site-level P&L visibility.

ABA diagnostic practice

Successful exit

Situation

Diagnostic practice for autism evaluations wanted to clean up the books and prepare for sale — without losing the leverage founders typically forfeit during diligence.

Action taken

Books cleanup, EBITDA normalization, defense-ready financial package, and sell-side advisory through close. Held the line on add-backs, working capital, and earnout terms.

Outcome

Successful exit at a strong multiple — with the owner keeping the leverage founders typically lose in a sale.

ABA software business

20× growth in 4 years

Situation

Founder built proprietary software for ABA providers and needed financial infrastructure to support fast scaling — forecasting, unit economics, and a profit plan that could keep pace with hyper-growth.

Action taken

Forecasting, CAC/LTV modeling, profit-plan and scale roadmap. Set up the financial discipline a fast-growing software business needs without slowing it down.

Outcome

20×+ growth over four years. Now serves a national customer base with global reach.

International ABA practice

0 → 1,500+ monthly contributors

Situation

Early-stage therapy practice, founder-led, starting from zero. Needed a CFO to build the financial backbone, grow recurring monthly contributor support, and structure partnerships with universities.

Action taken

Served as CFO from day one. Built the financial backbone, set up budgeting and reporting, structured the partnership terms with university partners, and ran the financial side of the growth roadmap.

Outcome

Grew from 0 to 1,500+ monthly contributors and partnerships with 15 universities — enough scale to open an international therapy clinic in Belize.
